It's been hot, really hot over the past few weeks and while it is summer in Colorado and that's to be expected, it will be nice to get a little relief and break from the scorching temperatures with a bit of a cool down this weekend.

Now, you're not going to be needing to break any any sweaters or hoodies anytime soon, the 10-15 degree cooldown will bring a bit of relief to scorched residents here in the great state of Colorado.

After seeing and feeling temperatures near and even above 100 degrees over the past few weeks, a small cold front will be pushing through to drop temperatures a bit into the mid to upper 80's on Sunday and Monday.

Temperatures are expected to remain in the 80's for the most part through next week as well.

Some monsoon moisture will be hitting the mountains and foothills so some flash flooding could occur as well so keep that in mind as well.

In addition to that, our usual chance of some afternoon thunderstorms will remain with us for the next week as well.

Please keep in mind the dangers of potential flash floods and to never cross or go through a roadway covered by water and to stay away from rivers and streams as well.
