Denver Zoo
The Denver Zoo is one of the most popular attractions in Colorado featuring lions, tigers, bears, elephants, penguins, reptiles, birds, monkeys - and everything in between. It's great family fun that's actually affordable.

Denver Botanic Gardens
The Denver Botanic Gardens is 24 acres of plants, flowers, amazing gardens, and collections. The various gardens reflect plants from around the globe. Tickets are not available on-site and need to be purchased in advance.

Denver Museum of Nature and Science
The Denver Museum of Nature and Science has been in operation for over 100 years, although you might know it by its previous name, the Denver Museum of Natural History. The museum is educational, but it's also fun and fascinating. To help regulate the flow of the crowd, you need to get a specifically timed ticket for entry.

Colorado State Capitol
The Colorado State Capitol is home to the governor's office and the Colorado General Assembly. It's where the Colorado state government happens. Of course, the inside of the building is majestic with what is believed to be the entire known supply of Colorado Rose Onyx. Free guided tours are offered throughout the day on a first-come, first-served basis.
Hours: 7:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., tours are offered at 10:00, 11:00, 1:00, and 2:00

Colorado Railroad Museum
The railroad was such a big part of Colorado's early history, and the Colorado Railroad Museum will take you back to those early days with exhibits inside and a 15-acre rail yard featuring over 100 narrow and standard gauge steam and diesel locomotives, passenger cars, cabooses, and a G-scale garden railway.

Elitch Gardens
Elitch Gardens is a theme park and water park with roller coaster thrill rides, family rides, and kiddie rides. Or course, they have shopping, games, arcades, and dining. A day at Elitch's is a full day of family fun.
Hours: The park is open with varying hours and days of operation April-October
Admission: $44.99 in advance, $64.99 at the park.

16th Street Mall
If you love to shop, you'll certainly enjoy more than a mile of shopping in over 250 stores. It's a pedestrian mall, but there is a free shuttle service to help move you along if you need it. Plenty of restaurants for dining, and a great way to spend the day when the weather is good.

Denver Art Museum
The Denver Art Museum features a fabulous collection of permanent and temporary exhibits of art from around the world in multiple buildings. It's a fascinating place. Guided tours are available for groups of at least 10.

Union Station
Union Station is a unique 100-year-old landmark in downtown Denver that serves as a hub for Denver's light rail and the RTD Free MallRide. Inside Union Station is a collection of restaurants, bars, shops, and the luxurious Crawford Hotel.

Meow Wolf Convergence Station
Meow Wolf is a very unique immersive and interactive art experience for all ages. It's hard to describe but it's a 4-story exhibition with 70+ unique installations, rooms, and portals. It's a combination jungle gym, haunted house, children's museum, and immersive art exhibit. They use the timed-ticketing process, so you pick a day and time to visit - and order your tickets online.

Cherry Creek Shopping District
Cherry Creek is the ultimate shopping experience with the Cherry Creek Shopping Center and Cherry Creek North offering some 500 shops, galleries, and restaurants. You can shop indoors at Cherry Creek Shopping Center, or go across 1st Avenue and walk the 16 blocks of stores, boutiques, and restaurants.

The children's museum targets newborns to 8-year-olds with a hands-on, interactive experience. Kids have the opportunity to investigate and learn, imagine, explore, and create. The museum has mask-optional and mask-required days. Advance reservations are required.

Colorado Sports Hall of Fame
The Colorado Sports Hall of Fame at Empower Field honors Colorado legends from the world of sports across the state. The Hall of Fame museum opened in 2001 with a permanent home to present and preserve the legendary sports stories, athletes, and coaches in Colorado history.

Coors Brewery Tour
The Coors Brewery Tour showcases the history of Coors as well as the malting, brewing, and packaging processes. Old photos, memorabilia, historical beer cans, and tasting are part of the tour in the largest single-site brewery in the world. Visitors who are 21 years and older, with a valid government-issued ID will receive 3 samples in branded recyclable aluminum cups that you can take home.

Larimer Square
