Have you been to the library recently? There is a lot going on. Let me take you back to a few events I attended. In September 2021 the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) did an excellent reading program for the book, The call of the wild. Written by Jack London, and what a great read. The event was family fun with games, activities, and prizes, along with many informational booths. Free copies of the book were given out as well.

The next great event was the Puppy Palooza last Summer 2022. The event was sponsored again by the NEA big read program, in partnership with Arts midwest. There was a dog parade and demonstrations, and you could read a story with the Morningstar Therapy Dogs. Local dog trainers were in attendance, too. Many crafts for kids, and treats for your dogs. Chow Down spoiled us with goody bags for our dogs. Free books and contests too. It was so much fun.

The library has many weekly events. For kids, teens, and adults. Crafternoon is on Thursdays, and the library book club meets once a month as well. If you're a chess fan, the chess club is on Tuesday from four to 5 p.m. for all ages. The library is open Monday thru Sunday. Check times online as they may vary. The website is montroselibrary.org. Take a trip to your Montrose library, you will be glad you did. Oh, and the staff is very helpful too.
