We are just over a week into the new year. How are you doing with those new year's resolutions? Saving on things you use every day could be something to look forward to. If I wasn't been so invested in my current career, I may have wanted to be a financial planner. The first thing I do at the beginning of each year is make a budget.

Who doesn't love a great deal? Inflation is crazy, and just buying groceries stresses me out. Yesterday at the store eggs were five dollars and forty none cents a dozen, ouch! So I have my own list of things you can more than likely save some money on. Each year I look over my Insurance policies, maybe you could raise your deductible, or get rid of the rental car insurance. How about cable services? With Netflix and Hulu, just to name a few, it's worth some research anyway.

How about cooking at home more, you may tend to eat healthier. If you do like to go out like I do, how about lunch or happy hour? They usually have better deals. Are you one of those people that like the latest cell phone? You could put it off another year. Most phones I've had over the last decade have made it 3 or 4 years.

Have you given any thought to a roommate, or rented out your basement for someone's storage? You can also DIY many things. Home repairs, pet grooming, car maintenance. Youtube is one of the best ways to learn how to DIY almost anything. You can also pay with credit cards, as most offer rewards. But if that's not your thing cash is always good, as some smaller shops may offer a discount if you pay cash. My last suggestion would be to buy used, books, consignment store items, or even shop the clearance rack sometime. I hope some of these tips helped.
